Giuseppe meets again with Caterina, his former flame, after a long absence from Catania. When her mother's lover sees her 15-year-old daughter Graziella seducing him, he quickly breaks down and starts an affair.

After many years working as a journalist in France, Giuseppe returns to the empty family home in his native Acireale and looks up his old flame Caterina, now a widow and mother of the teenage Graziella. A staid middle-aged romance is rekindled and he begins spending nights in her home. Graziella, though she has a local boyfriend, finds her mother's mature and sophisticated lover far more alluring and starts trying to entice him. 

Giuseppe succumbs to Graziella's charms bit by bit, and the affair has only just been consummated when Caterina finds out. Stormy arguments among the three end with a fragile truce, in which Giuseppe will not abandon Caterina. Unhappy that she has not won, Graziella gets her friend Rosina to tempt Giuseppe into a beach cabin and then rushes to tell her mother about this new infidelity. Dressing herself immaculately, Caterina waits outside Giuseppe's house until he emerges, when she shoots him dead.

There’s little if anything subtle or elegant about Seduction. It’s not particularly pleasing to look at, and its character beats tend to punch viewers in the face. Despite these factors, it does succeed at being sexy, if only ugly-sexy. That is not a comment on anyone’s physical appearance, but rather in regard to the atmosphere, attitudes and action of the film. 

The new Blu-Ray from Italian import Raro Video is up to the label’s usual standards of quality, boasting a fine if slightly faded image quality, good audio and subtitling. There is also a thirty-minute featurette on the film, and a full color essay booklet. The overly racy cover image (featuring an obscured topless Barbara Marzano) arrives within an outer slipcase displaying the far more subdued original poster art, featuring Lisa Gastoni with a gun.
